Details About the Safety and Emissions Inspections
During the NY safety inspection, our ASE-certified technicians carefully examine a variety of systems and parts according to state guidelines.

In addition to the safety check, vehicles must also pass a NY emissions inspection to ensure they meet environmental standards. For most 1996 and newer vehicles, this involves a computerized test of the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system to verify that emission-related components are functioning properly.
